I'm currently housebound looking after my wife following her back operation so haven't been able to get out fishing for a while BUT this morning I just couldn't take it any longer...
The sun was lightening the sky and promising a real scorcher, my rods were resting against my desk where I'd just finished cleaning them, and poor Levi was looking positively skeletal after not having had a Sausage and Egg MacMuffin for over a week.
So furnishing "She-Who-Must-Be-Obeyed" within arm's reach of everything she may desire I promised to be back in an hour and placed dog and rod in the car and headed off for Ringstead.
We got there just on high tide and started spinning for our breakfast Mackerel to the right-hand end of the reef as we walked up towards Perry Ledge. Luckily I not only caught a couple but was also able to get them in my bag faster than Levi could steal them and by the time we got to between Perry and Bran Point I was happy just to watch the sunrise and brew a mug of coffee.
After changing lures I had an experimental cast or two around the ledge as the tide started to fall but apart from Mackerel there seemed to be little activity so we turned round and headed back to the car before we had to pay the extortionate, rip-off, thieving, parking fee at Ringstead (not that I'm bitter about it or anything)
Finally, we headed for Dorchester bypass to grab a coffee and a pre-breakfast Muffin for Levi (and as he feels uncomfortable eating alone I thought I'd better buy one for myself too) then turned for home, the mighty hunters returning with their spoils
